Ok. So Laurel is a 15-year-old who has been homeschooling her whole life, of at least the part she remembers. But her parents sold their house and bought a bookstore in another town. So she not just change City, but school learning too. On her first day, she met David, and he became her best friend, even when she had feelings for him.
But when her life was finally adjusting to the changes, one day she woke up with a bump in her back, and at first she thought it was a zit. Unfortunately for her, that thing was growing every day til became like a flower on her back. She tells David what's happening to her cause she was freaking out and didn't want to tell her parents.

Laurel and David spend a lot of time together trying to understand what's happening to Laurel. Making experiments using David's microscope. But then Laurel goes to her old house and finds a guy in the back woods of the property. Tamani gives her a little information about her past, leaving her with more questions and worries.
She was a fairy.
Laurel had a hard time admitting to herself that was true. That she was not like any human. She couldn't eat like everyone else. She couldn't breathe... she didn't have a heart.
When her blossom fell, the whole situation instead of getting better, got worse. There was something about the man trying to buy her old house. Something was not quite right. And then her father got really sick.

This is a Young Adult- from 2010, not the Sarah J Maas Young Adult - Fantasy story with the 2011 fairies 🤣 As the fairies should be 🤣 This is the type of story I loved back then. The first ones I read. Is innocent, she may be fifteen but there is no bad language and the type of things people add in teenage books these days.
The origin of the fairies is another thing I enjoy and like. I don't think I have read something similar before. And I'm pretty sure the next book will be a bomb, I have the feeling and it never failed me.
One thing that bothers me is that I always get confused and say Tamlin to Tamani 🤣 That dude doesn't want to leave me alone 🥲 so I hope Tamani doesn't get in the Tamlin roll in the next books.
I wasn't expecting to finish this book too fast, now I will not have anything to read til is pay day again 🥲
