The twist of a knife. The birth of a legend.
Step into the world of the #1 bestselling Throne of Glass series by Sarah J. Maas with this collection of prequel novellas.
Celaena Sardothien is her kingdom's most feared assassin. Though she works for the powerful Assassin's Guild and its scheming master, Arobynn Hamel, she yields to no one and trusts only her fellow killer-for-hire, Sam. But when Arobynn dispatches her on missions that take her from remote islands to hostile deserts, Celaena finds herself acting independently of his wishes and questioning her own allegiance.
If she hopes to escape Arobynn's clutches, Celaena will have to put her faith in her wits and her blade . . . knowing that if she fails, she'll lose not just a chance at freedom but her life.
The Assasins Blade is a collection of short stories about Celaena Sardothier. Some people say it should be read after Crown of Midnight, but others say it should be read first, before Throne of Glass.
I read the series first and left this particular book to the end, and I read it because an amazing soul in TikTok fairy me this book.
I decided to re-read the series, not just because I have trouble leaving behind any Sarah J Maas world, but because the first time I read it, it was in Spanish. My Spanish collection is in the original cover, with our Dear Celaena. I will get slowly but surely, the new covers in English.
Now, it was a fast read, and I enjoyed reading more about Celaena, how she met Sam, and how she fell in love with him. Mostly, how she connects with all the characters at are in the end of the series. It blows my mind how the lives of all the characters connect at some point, like with Irene.
And YES! I cry a lot in one particular chapter.
I personally love Celaena. Even when I couldn't pronounce her name at the beginning 🤭
if you are going to read this series soon, you should wait longer to start it, and I suggest you read this book first.
Write you soon, til next time!
